Position Overview

Kirsch Talent Solutions is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production Technician to join a steel manufacturing operation in the Charlotte, NC area. This role is responsible for supporting daily production processes, operating industrial equipment, and ensuring steel products meet quality and production standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment and will be comfortable working with heavy equipment, production machinery, and strict safety procedures.


Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor steel production equipment and machinery
• Assist with the processing, shaping, and finishing of steel materials
• Monitor production lines to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report mechanical issues
• Follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with workplace safety standards
• Load and unload raw materials and finished steel products
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production targets
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment


Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in manufacturing, steel production, or industrial environments preferred
• Ability to operate industrial equipment and machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
• Ability to work in hot, noisy, and fast-paced environments
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in steel, metal, or heavy manufacturing environments
• Forklift or industrial equipment certification
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment maintenance


Work Environment

This position operates in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility and may involve exposure to high temperatures, loud machinery, and physical labor. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required at all times while on the production floor.
